What’s Crew Chat, you ask? 

It’s our brand-new messaging system that lets admins, dispatchers, and drivers stay in touch while routes are in progress. 

No more wondering if your message got through or playing phone tag with drivers. Crew Chat keeps everyone on the same page, right when it matters most.

What’s New?

1. Real-time messaging

No more waiting for updates. As soon as a route starts, you can send and receive messages instantly. It’s like having your whole team in one room, even when they’re miles apart.

2. Group chat

Need to tell everyone something important? Use the “General” chat to reach all drivers at once. It’s perfect for quick updates or important announcements.

3. Private messaging

Sometimes you need a one-on-one conversation. Admins can send private messages to individual drivers when needed. 

It’s great for addressing specific issues without cluttering the main chat.

4. Driver-to-Admin communication

Drivers aren’t left out of the loop. They can send messages to admins and dispatch users too. This two-way street keeps everyone informed and engaged.

5. Online/offline status

Wondering if a driver has seen your message? The online/offline status lets you know who’s currently available at a glance.

How it Works

Let’s walk through Crew Chat step-by-step. We’ve made it super easy to use, so you’ll be chatting with your team in no time!

  1. Starting the chat: When a driver starts their route, Crew Chat springs into action. It gets enabled automatically in both the admin/dispatcher console and the driver’s app. No need to remember to turn it on – it’s there when you need it.
  2. For admins and dispatchers: Look for the new Crew Chat tab at the top of your screen. Click it, and you’re in! You’ll see a list of all drivers currently on active routes. It’s that simple.
  3. Sending messages: Want to chat with a specific driver? Just click on their name. A chat window opens up, and you can start typing. Hit send, and your message is on its way. Quick and easy!
  4. Group messages: Need to reach all drivers at once? Look for the “General” option in your chat list. This is your go-to for group messages. Everyone gets the memo at the same time.
  5. Checking driver status: Wondering if a driver is available? Each driver in your list has an online/offline status. Online means they are ready to chat. Offline means they might not see your message right away.
  6. For drivers: Drivers, when you start your route, the chat option gets enabled in your app. Tap it to open. You can send messages to admins or dispatchers anytime you need to.
  7. Wrapping up: Once all routes are done for the day, Crew Chat tidies itself away. It disappears from both the admin/dispatcher console and the driver’s app. No clutter left behind!
